Dabangg (Hindi: दबंग, English: Fearless) is a 2010 Hindi action film, directed by Abhinav Kashyap in his directional debut and produced by Arbaaz Khan.[4] It is the first film released under the newly launched Arbaaz Khan Productions. The lead actors in the film include Arbaaz's elder brother, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of Shatrughan Sinha. The film marks the debut of Sonakshi as an actor, Arbaaz as a producer[5] and Abhinav Kashyap, brother of acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap, as a director.[6] It also features Om Puri, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna, Anupam Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan, and Mahie Gill in supporting roles while Sonu Sood plays the main antagonist.[7] Malaika Arora appears in an item number.[8] The theatrical trailer of the film was released on 23 July 2010.[9] Dabangg was released on Eid, 10 September 2010 across nearly 1,800 screens in India and abroad.
